Advent Calendar!

I am never satisfied with the advent calendars they sell at the stores so I decided to make my own this year! It's made out of a mini muffin tin and of course digital scrapbooking supplies as well as some ribbon, buttons, twin, etc. I put magnets on the back so I can reuse for next year! I plan on filling it with candy and some fun festive activities!!

Hybrid Ornament!

Kelleigh is doing 30 ornaments in 30 days to show you all how you can make some awesome hybrid projects just in time for the holidays! These will make great gifts or even decor for your house! I used the Perfect Pumpkin Template by Kelleigh. Paper used is by Kelley Mickus from her Nov Grab Bag. I just placed the paper over the template and printed it out on regular matte photo paper. I cut out the template and assembled it. The only tricky part was stringing the large beads through the ornament. I made a slit in the bottom of the template and gently glided it all the way through to the top. That was honestly the hardest part! hehe! So, once it was assemebled and all the edges were glued together, I adorned it with some pretty jewels and a nice big fat ribbon on top! I can't wait to put this on my Christmas tree! I hope you enjoyed this cute little project! Stay tuned for some awesome new things to come and some more awesome ornament ideas! Photobucket

I am finally getting around to scrapping my daughter's 3rd birthday! Credits: Newlife's Dreams kit Make a Wish Font: Ali's Hand Journaling: Daddy had to work on your 3rd birthday so Mommy bought a cake for you and sang to you and we had a little celebration here. Just the two of us girls! I took you out to lunch at Apple- bees and then we came home to unwrap your gifts! We played in the yard and tested out your new slip n slide. After that Mommy let you pout makeup on me and on yourself! We painted our nails and did our hair.... it was so much fun! We ended out night with popcorn and a movie. You were exhausted when the day was over! Photobucket

Light Box!!

I've always wondered how some people got awesome pictures with a white background and awesome detail. After much searching and reading different tutorials this is what I came up with! It's not the prettiest thing but it works! You can read over my favorite tutorial here. I happened to have a box lying around that was the perfect size to make this light box. (perks of being a Sam's Club member!) So how much did this thing cost me? .37 cents! The poster board was the only thing I had to buy. All I did was cut 3 sides of the box out. The two sides and front.

Then I cut the poster board to the correct size so I could fit it from the bottom of the box all the way to the top. I wrapped the remainder of the poster board and taped it to the back to secure it. Now if you have a white t-shirt or tank top lying around go get it! I stole one of my hubby's undershirts and cut it up. I taped a piece of it to either side of the box to allow a little bit of light to show through but to also keep the brightness. Secure them with tape and voila! You have a cheap light box that works magic! If you have a desk light that swivels, you can use that by putting it directly on top of the box so it's shining in from the top.

I usually take my photos during the day because I think sunlight is the best light. I hardly ever use my flash unless I absolutely have to! To get a great picture just hold your camera very steady or use a tripod if you have one. Once you have some pictures you like you can always touch them up in photoshop. I hope this helps! It's super easy, cheap, and works wonders!!!

And here are some pictures I've taken using the lightbox. See the difference it makes?!
